Women are now the fastest growing subgroup of U.S. veterans. The number of women veterans is expected to increase dramatically in the next 10 years. The Department of Veterans Affairs understands the health care needs of women, and Veterans is committed to meeting these needs. In 2009, VA Loma Linda was chosen as part of a VA national collaborative for breast cancer care to improve outcomes.

Our team achieved a 53% reduction in time to complete diagnostic mammogram and a 93% reduction in total imaging time when additional views were recommended. In addition, we also reduced the time to biopsy by up to 67%.
